OXFAM needs to be agile and adapt to the evolving challenges affecting poverty and inequalities. One thing that is consistent: the speed at which these problems disrupt the lives of communities worldwide is only getting faster and we need to introduce new and innovative ways of fighting old time problems. To achieve these results, OXFAM has designed a programmatic innovation strategy that will contribute to:
• Strengthen country offices and local partner´s capacities for the design of new generation of development programmes by using innovation and human centred design methodologies.
• Generate innovation champions and increase risk tolerance through the focus on learning.
• Speak loud: share and disseminate innovation knowledge, and good practices

JOB PURPOSE
The OXFAM Spain Internship Programme offers eligible/qualified students at Headquarter office the opportunity to acquire direct practical experience in OXFAM´s work under the direct supervision of experienced OXFAM staff. This internship is for the purpose of acquiring organizational knowledge of programmes and processes to supplement academic and theoretical knowledge.
This position is based in The Quality, Knowledge and Innovation team which is leading the Innovation Strategy. Under the guidance of the Quality, Knowledge and Innovation Head, this intern provides technical, operational and administrative assistance to the implementation of the action plan for 17/18 of the Programmatic Innovation Strategy 2020. This strategy has a thematic focus on the areas of Inequalities, Resilience, Women Rights and Local Humanitarian Leadership, and puts a special emphasis in the incorporation of ICTs.

What will be your functions?

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Programmatic support, Knowledge and Research
• Support the launching and implementation of ¨EUREKA¨, Oxfam´s Intermon innovation programme
• Support in the design, and implementation of the innovation process (inspiration, ideation and prototyping) in the two case studies (including organization of workshops, support implementation of research plans, etc.)
• Will function as help desk for horizon scanning services for country offices to respond their demands of knowledge on relevant innovation good practices and potential partners.
• Assist the Innovation Unit in any additional tasks that are required.

2. Communication and events organization
• Create innovative ways to facilitate knowledge and promote learning on innovation and innovative solutions for country offices and their local partners (podcast, hackathons, crowdsourcing, etc.)
• Manage innovation champion CoP sharing trends and news on relevant innovations to the country offices using various social media and Oxfam´s intranet tools
• Liaise with department units, and country offices for the collaborative content creation.
• Co-organize key events in the area of Innovation for Development, such as Labs, and round tables.

3. ICTs and Innovation
• In coordination with other OXFAM Affiliates and Country offices, create channels and tools for learning on the application of ICTs for promote new innovative solutions.
• Function as help desk for ICT solutions providing country offices with info on ICTs solutions for innovation as requested and connecting with the right people.
• Support the development and expansion of Oxfam´s ICT alliance for innovation with Universities, startups and other actors.
• Create audiovisual materials, process maps, system diagrams, data visualization mockups and dashboard mockups that clearly communicate the main concepts, principles and stories of OXFAM Spain and Innovation projects regional and national level

What are we looking for?

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Currently enrolled in a graduate (Master’s) degree in the area related to innovation, business administration, ICT or design.
• Compatible University student agreement with OXFAM Spain rules and regulations
• Excellent academic performance, as demonstrated by academic records.
• Capacity to work autonomously with little guidance at times
• Language skills: 1) oral and written fluency in French (even if not native language), 2) advanced knowledge of Spanish and English (bonus points if you are fluent).
• Ability to undertake travel if required by the post to hardship duty stations
• Experience conceptualizing, and implementing workshops and training activities (ideally on innovation methodologies=

ABOUT YOU:
You are an enthusiastic and creative person, proactive, a natural networker and curious about everything and anything. Bonus points if you know why, how and when to use the hashtag #staywoke! You can connect easily things that apparently have no connection and find the synergies and amplifying options. You are deeply familiar with all innovation methodologies and approaches (Lean start up, Human Centre Design, Design Thinking, etc.) and have applied them ideally in a real case study (If not, but you are a fast learner and ready to get up to speed soon, we like you too!)
You are a natural communicator and feel comfortable working in a team. You have multicultural sensitivity, understand the basics limitations that our partners face in developing countries, you are flexible and have a good stamina to work hard for a good cause. And especially important, you are ready to deal with the burocracy and pace of an international NGO that sometimes can drive you nuts!
We specially encourage students from developing countries, especially those countries where OXFAM Spain is focusing its work.

Social benefits: Should be covered by the University Internship Agreement
Working place: Barcelona Head Quarters (Oxfam Intermon), with flexibility for homework and with potential travel worldwide.
