Somalia: WASH Hygiene Supervisor (Somalia-Yeed)

Organisational background:

Action Contre la Faim (Action Against Hunger) has been conducting humanitarian programs in Somalia Since May 1992. Currently, AAH is conducting its humanitarian activities in Somalia focused on treating and preventing malnutrition, increasing access to clean water and appropriate sanitation, strengthening the food-security and the livelihoods and thus boosting the resilience of communities in Somalia as well as emergency response via program bases in Somalia.

Goal:

This post aims to support and supervise the implementation of the water, sanitation and hygiene projects on the base.

The Positions and Responsibilities:

AAH Somalia is looking for a suitable Somali National to fill the position of WASHHygiene Supervisor. The position will be based in Somalia- Yeed. The WASH Hygiene Supervisor reports to the WASH Field officer -Yeed

The WASH Hygiene Supervisor‘s core responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:

• Mission 1: Implement the activities of the hygiene promotion project:
• Mission 2: Participate in the implication of beneficiary communities in the project:
• Mission 3: Manage the project team:
• Mission 4: Relay Action Against Hunger’s activities to the communities and partners:

Who we are looking for:

Educational & Professional background:

· Relevant field to WASH development assistance

· Experience of 2 years in WASH sector (same position or Supervisor position)

· Report writing; Analysis capacity

· Capacity building

· Social mobilization and hygiene promotion

· Budget follow-up

· Logistic management and stock follow-up

· Monitoring and evaluation

· Survey and sampling methodology ( KAP / PDM)

· Organization, Rigor and a Critical mind

· Ability to work within a team

· Ability to plan, forecast, anticipate and respect deadlines

· Ability to use MS Office

· Fluent in Somali and English (oral and writing)

Preferred

Working knowledge of Somali
