Qatar Charity Somalia Program seeks to recruit Accountability assistant in Mogadishu.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Qatar Charity Somalia is seeking a qualified and highly motivated person who can ensure that QC staff are accountable to the beneficiaries and maximizes local community participation. Under the direction of the PD, the Accountability assistant will work with the Programs, Monitoring/Evaluation and field teams, as well as other relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure QC programs maintain high standards of accountability to our beneficiaries in way that in line with international humanitarian standards.
Major Responsibilities:
- Planning, design and implement Accountability Log frames and plans for projects distributions, maintain a help desk/information table to the community members to answer beneficiary comments/questions.
- Work with the rest of the team to ensure that beneficiaries as well as local authorities have full information on the project. Ensure that beneficiaries participate on planning and selection.
- Before UCT, mobilize target community on transfer modality and distribution schedule. Ensure key information reaches beneficiaries using a number of approaches.
- After monthly distribution, follow up with the beneficiaries on the receipt of transfer and record compliances from the community.
- Handle on daily bases the hotline number calls, record the reports, consolidate on weekly bases and report to the management for action.
- Ensure that all beneficiaries properly receive their benefits.
- Work with the rest of the Response Team to ensure accountability standards are included in staff orientation sessions and community meetings.
- Maintain a proper filing system for all the complaints and feedback with filling codes.
- Work closely with project team in order to collect feedback from sector leads about referred complains to their respective sectors.
- Follow up on outstanding beneficiary feedback with relevant departments and beneficiaries.
- Conduct Information Provision & Feedback sessions with beneficiaries.
- Investigate allegations of irregularities, fraud, corruption or other forms of misconduct by directly liaising with the affected beneficiaries in close collaboration with the PD.
- When necessary, in coordination with PD, manage project field assistant team to conduct feedback sessions with the community.
- Participate in local Accountability and Learning groups to ensure collaboration and coordinate Humanitarian Accountability approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Social Sciences, International Development, International Relations or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in relief and development work.
- At least 2 years of experience in humanitarian accountability design and implementation.
- Fluent in Arabic and English.
- Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
- This position is only for Somali citizens.
