Key Tasks
The Nutrition and Hygiene Facilitator role is to safeguard and improve the public health of the affected population by: promoting best Nutrition and Hygiene practices;
· Support, plan and carry out needs assessments, baseline studies, periodic monitoring and endline surveys, and feedback findings to stakeholders.
· Support plan activities to reduce Nutrition, Hygiene & sanitation related health risks.
· Collate data from Community and target beneficiaries and prepare regular reports on activities and Nutrition, Hygiene/Sanitation conditions for monitoring.
· Analyze the nutrition, hygiene and sanitation situation in the operation area and recommend priority actions to be taken.
· Train community Nutrition, hygiene and health promoters on community nutrition, hygiene and health aspects and monitor their activities regularly;
· Design ways of building and strengthening community-based systems for the dissemination of improved nutrition, hygiene and sanitation practices;
· Provide weekly AWD reports, and provide inputs for monthly project report;
Qualifications & requirements
· Holder of University Degree or advanced Diploma in Public health, Nutrition or Nursing with at least three years professional experience.
· At least two years experience in WASH programming
· Must be a Somali National with clear knowledge of the region of operation and experience working in fast paced humanitarian programming in Somalia
· Strong computer skills and ability to use standard computing packages (word, excel, outlook, power point, internet etc);
· Developed planning, organizational and research / analytical skills;
· Strong team working and interpersonal skills;
· Be able to communicate effectively in Somali and English Language.
