1. Introduction
Since 2003 Somali Community Concern (SCC) has been operating in South/Central Somalia with life-saving and developmental programs and services reaching over 30,000 IDP Children, 140,000 IDP and 120,000 vulnerable elderly men and youths. Currently, SCC implements programs in Education, WASH and Protection. 2. Summary of Responsibilities:
The accountant’s duty is to ensure the accounting, fiscal and analytical treatment of all SCC financial operations, but also duly guarantee the accounting data entrance in Quickbook system by monthly and quarterly, and finally the closure of the projects with Somali Community Concern (SCC).
3. Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receive all supporting documents for financial transactions.
• Perform the necessary checking before data entering (verify invoices, POs, DN etc.)
• Prepare the accounting documents and submit them for validation.
• Enter all accounting transactions data into Quick book system
• Carry out the checking of data registration:
• Prepare the inventory worksheets and ensure their compliance with the accounting statements
• File and keep track of all accounting documents with supporting documents; of all daily, monthly and quarterly transactions, including the supporting documentation for bank statements and reconciliations. Manage day-to-day activities to meet the financial obligations of the organization.
• Assist the Financial officer in preparing the “Financial monitoring and Budgetary control
• Statement” and the periodic statements of cash flow and financial situation.
4*. Required Qualification/Experience & Competencies:*
• 2 to 5 Years’ experience as an accountant or an accountant assistant or relevant role.
• University degree in Accountancy.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and intuit Quickbook Software
• Have good communication skills
• Excellent organization and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and at flexible hours.
